Bob & Debbie's version of "THE OFFICE"

On Friday, the 2nd, demolition started on the office. We pulled up ugly orange carpet, pulled down old ceiling tile, and ripped paneling off the walls only to find good firring strips to attach the new drywall to. Bob and Bobby began on Saturday morning.
See that person in the bottom left corner. Well that is the supervisor that knows nothing about drywall. Thank goodness Bobby knows what he is doing. When he was done with the first layer of tape and mud, it was my turn to do what I do best....strip......the floor. The floor was one that had been painted around the edges and a rug in the middle before carpet had been put in. Tyler and I both stripped the mustard colored paint off. During the rest of the week, Bobby came over after work to add more mud and paint the ceiling and walls with primer.

On Saturday during the snow storm, he was over bright and early to paint and sand the floor. Look how far we have come. There will be wainscoating put up and the floor will be left natural. You that know me, know that is how I like it. The older looking, the better.

See the BLUE ribbon on her halter and you can tell Taylor was happy too. Where I am going with this story is.......Peanut was given to me as a Christmas gift by my honey, Bob. I was really surprised as he had already given me a gorgous antique blanket chest. So I love my little blonde girl and she and I are going to go far! By the way her registered name is....get this, Col. Bob's Skipa Peanut. What a name!

Meet Peanut! This is in March when she was born. I knew then I would put my claws into her and not let her leave the farm. As you can see, she is the sweetest little girl and obviously the right color, blonde, or palomino to us horse people. We have watched her grow into a beautiful weanling. She was shown by Katie McAndrew in 4-H and went all the way to states. Well from the next picture, you can see how she did.

Christmas Eve

Every Christmas Eve my children, parents and brother get together at the farm for our celebration of the holidays. This year we had a lunch before Alex and I handed out everyones stockings. He did a great job waiting for all to have theirs before he got his. He sat next to Jeff and proceeded to pull things out one at a time.
Casey is so full of life when she sees something she didn't expect....like a whistle.

Little Jet was there too. Anyone that knows me, knows I am a critter lover. He got lots of treats in the doggy stocking along with Lillie, Yoda and Izzy.

Alex checking out the goodies in his stocking. Look at the pile he has in front of him!

Owen and I just watched while everyone ate and visited with each other. We all had a great time and as you can see lots of presents for everyone.

After the shoot, what to do with the venison. Well as you can see everyone got to get a piece of the action. Not sure about Alex. As long as he has his squishy he doesn't care. But Tyler learned it doesn't end with the hunting day, it continues to the freezer or the canner or the oven.

Tyler's first hunting season!

This was Tyler's first year of hunting and our good friend Paul took him out on Monday, the first day of buck. NO LUCK.......so they waited and went out with the neighbors on Saturday and by 10:00 am he had his doe, a big one as he put it. We don't know who was more excited, Tyler or Paul. Thanks Paul.
