Our Winter Wonderland!

On Valentine's Day, we had planned a day of sled riding. Never thinking the snow was too deep, we decided to go for a 4-wheeler ride instead. Some of us got stuck, some of us went where we should not have gone, some of couldn't go where we wanted to go and so on, you get my drift.

Jeff took Alex with him, tucked tightly in his seat belt, for a wintery ride. Alex enjoyed the whole time until he realized it was getting too cold for him.

Some of the streams we crossed with our fingers crossed at the same time.

Oops, the same picture, I guess we had too much fun!

My Fabulous Daddy!

Most of you already know that my Dad is battling Colon Cancer. To refresh and update everyone: On Oct. 21, 2009, Dad found out he had colon cancer that had also moved to his liver. He had surgery to remove the tumor that was almost blocking the colon only to have a setback during recovery. After he had come home, he developed a blockage at the resection sight from dried blood and was back in the hospital for 2 more weeks. Needless to say, when he did come home, he was very weak and struggling to eat and drink. During this time he had a pet scan to determine any other activity. A few days later he started to get jaundiced and had test to see why this was happening. When he met back with his cancer Dr. we found out the liver was causing the jaundice and the pet scan showed activity in the liver, lymph nodes around the liver and a small spot near the lungs. So after options were offered, questions were asked, Dad decided to begin his chemo that day. I really feared for him, as he looked so weak and helpless.
To my surprise.....2 days later he had no jaundice and was moving around the house like a Nascar driver with his walker! That was almost 2 weeks ago. I have been sick, so I am staying away from the house, but last word (yesterday) I heard, after his Dr. appointment, he trekked over the Sharp Shopper with Mom and Kim for groceries! You go Daddy!!

SURPRISE! LOOK WHO IS 50!

On January 2, 2010, Linda Gail Papevies O'Brien, turned 50 years old. Yep she finally caught up with the rest of us. Bobby, Kim, Bob and I flew into Atlanta to surprise her for the weekend and celebrate with her. Wow what a good time we had. Spent a great time with everybody from Friday afternoon until Monday morning.
Linda enjoyed her favorite beverage, Chardonnay, in her new Birthday Girl Wine Glass she received from Karen, a good friend she and Alan fish with.

More of Christmas At the Farm

Merry Christmas from the farm!

On Christmas Eve, we had our family party at the farm. Wow what a great time we had. Dad was able to come and relax along with everyone of the family. Mom, Dad, Kim, Bobby, Taylor, Kelli, Jeff and the boys, Lauren, Matt, Casey, Ben and Tyler. We ate, opened gifts and had a blast watching Alex and Owen enjoy their Power Wheel from Bob and I. Looks like Owen took over from the beginning. Alex was great as he knew when they got home and brother was in bed, he would have it all to himself! Yea!!

Bob and I had some wonderful quiet time early in the morning as I was awake at 4:30. He smelled the coffee at 5am, came down and we talked for 2 1/2 hours. How wonderful just to sit, drink coffee and reminisce about all we have been through together and what might lie ahead for 2010. None of know what God has in his hands for us, we can only hope for the best. I hope to earn my Judges Card to judge horse shows, I will also be competing in a "Cowgirl Rodeo" in February, in of all places.....TEXAS! I think Bob is using me to get there. This was my Christmas gift from him..ah ha. Tyler and I hope to show the Palomino Circuit with Goldie to complete her Open ROM and to begin Peanut both novice and youth. No Casey, it won't be a full summer, just 2 show since she only needs 3 points. Most of all My Rooner and her Ben will be married on October 23. Wow, I will then have the 3 most wonderful son-in-laws anyone could ask for. Jeff, Matt and Ben are 3 of the best!!

As the New Year is just around the corner, Bob and I wish everyone our love and best wishes for 2010.
